alexander(aj) martin

Alexander (AJ) Martin is a dancer, teacher and choreographer from Orlando, Florida. Growing up, he trained at Focus Performing Arts Studio, developing a foundation in technique, performance and creative exploration. After graduating with a BFA in Contemporary Dance, he continues to pursue performance, teaching, and choreographic work with his passions of embodied storytelling and collaboration. Informed by training across the U.S. and Europe, he is trained in and draws from contemporary, modern, ballet, hip hop, jazz, and acrobatics. Through USF, AJ has had the opportunity to perform in works by a variety of incredible artists such as Stephanie Martinez, Kelly King, Saar Magal, and Roderick George. AJ is invested in creating and sharing work that is grounded in honesty, physical curiosity, and collaboration. In the future, AJ hopes to continue exploring his artistic palette, engaging with new communities, and discovering new ways to contribute to the evolving landscape of contemporary dance.
