Community Classes
A Consistent Practice
Community Classes are the foundation of our movement ecosystem. These classes offer an accessible, high-quality space to move, train, and reconnect — led by projectALCHEMY artists and guest teaching artists.
Rather than rotating styles week to week, our class structure emphasizes continuity, allowing dancers to deepen their understanding of each teacher’s approach and build relationships over time.

Workshops
Focused Exploration
Workshops offer a deeper dive into specific movement concepts, creative tools, or collaborative processes. These short-term intensives — ranging from a single session to a full day — are designed for dancers seeking concentrated exploration without a long-term commitment.
Workshop formats may include:
Repertory-based learning
Partnering and physical dialogue
Improvisation and composition
Interdisciplinary collaboration
Process-based choreographic research
Workshops are announced throughout the season and are open to dancers interested in expanding their practice and perspective.
Intensives
Immersion & Transformation
Intensives are multi-day, immersive experiences that invite participants into the deeper rhythms of projectALCHEMY’s creative process. These offerings are designed for dancers seeking sustained engagement, artistic growth, and company-level inquiry.
Intensives often include:
Daily technique and movement classes
Creative research and phrase work
Improvisation and partnering
Exposure to company repertory
Dialogue around artistic voice and process
Participants experience what it means to work inside the company ecosystem — moving, creating, and reflecting alongside projectALCHEMY artists.

Community Class is designed to build a strong, consistent foundation through shared practice and repetition.
Beginning April 2026, we gather once a week on Saturdays at 12:30pm, creating a focused space to train, connect, and grow together.
Classes are organized in seasonal arcs, shifting every three months to allow time for depth, continuity, and evolution within the work.
Each month begins with a class led by Artistic Director Alexander Jones, offering an entry point into the company’s process for those interested in deepening their connection and exploring future opportunities.
The remaining weeks feature rotating Teaching Artists, bringing a range of practices and perspectives into the space.
This structure supports:
Building technical and artistic foundation over time
Deepening engagement through consistency
Strengthening community through shared experience

Community Class is now held at FYI Dance, located at
655 31st St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712.
Parking is available in front of the building, as well as along the side and behind the building near Gibbs High School. When you arrive, please enter through the main entrance.
We recommend arriving a few minutes early to get settled before class begins.
